 FAQ

How often do commercial gas fired radiant tubes and warm air heaters need to be serviced?

The short answer to this is ‘as recommended by the manufacturer’ – this is nearly always once per year.

At ABS we offer Annual Maintenance contracts on a rolling basis or you can talk to Gary our Service After Sales Manager who can tailor make a package suitable for your company, including 3 and 5 year plans.

On a flexible appliance (i.e. radiant tube or suspended warm air) how often do the gas flexibles need changing?

If natural gas is being used then the gas flexibles should be changed very 10 years from the date of manufacture. If using LPG then they should be changed every 5 years from the date of manufacture.

How Do Radiant Tube Heaters Work?

The best way to explain this is that they work just like the sun in our sky. They heat bodies and surfaces without heating the air around us – this comes from the convected heat given off by these surfaces. Their design and versatility means they are not taking up floor space – they are hung at high level and are zoneable to maximise efficiency and minimize running costs.

How Do Warm Air Heaters Work?

Warm air heaters do exactly what their name suggests – they warm the air around us. This can be done either directly or indirectly depending on each individual buildings requirements. Warm air rises to the highest point so that stratification fans force the warm air down to low level to even out the temperature of the building.
