Client Profile: ABS Ltd, was recommended by Nortek Global Limited to investigate and address issues with the heating system at a commercial facility in South Wales.

Client Needs: The client required a survey and rectification of the heating system, comprising 24 x Ambi Rad burners and 8 x Space Ray 45 kW U-Tube heaters.

Challenges Identified: Upon inspection by ABS Ltd, it was discovered that the Ambi Rad system was experiencing vacuum loss due to improperly installed tailpipes, incorrect levels and the use of inappropriate materials compounded the issue. The Space Ray U-Tube heaters were initially left unflued during installation, but due to building upgrades, ventilation requirements mandated some heaters to be flued.

Solution Implemented: ABS Ltd took action to address the identified challenges. For the Ambi Rad system, we rectified the installation issues by adjusting tailpipe elevation and replacing incorrect materials. As a result, all 24 burners were restored to full operational capacity. For the Space Ray U-Tube heaters requiring fluing, ABS Ltd opted to install louvres at high and low levels to ensure proper ventilation compliance without the need to penetrate the new roof. This solution ensured the efficient operation of all 8 heaters.

Outcome: Following ABS Ltd's intervention, all 24 x Ambi Rad burners and 8 x Space Ray U-Tube heaters were functioning optimally. The client was pleased with the timely resolution of the heating system issues, ensuring comfort and operational efficiency within their facility.
